Philippe Jetté, P.Eng
Philippe is our chief IT visionary and we hope he’ll become yours too. He is passionate about technology, the people who make it work and the experiences it enables. Since graduating from engineering school he was never presented with a complex challenge that he was not willing to take on. The leading edge of technology development is the only zone in which Philippe feels comfortable, and that’s where he has spent most of his career.Philippe has learned that creativity is important, but it is not enough to solve the problems that keep executives awake at night. Durable solutions are found through the partnership between Cogeco Peer 1’s industry-leading team of experts and the customer’s team. Success in our environment is built on a solid foundation of trust, teamwork, respect, innovation and an undying commitment to the customer.

Prior to becoming president, Philippe served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology and Strategy Officer of Cogeco Inc. A graduate of École Polytechnique de Montréal, he has been a licensed member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec since 1988.

Susan is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the organization in the EMEA region, with a strong focus on helping customers scale their business to achieve their critical business objectives. Technology partnerships and the virtualization of facilities are at the center of many business success stories of our digital age. CIOs are distinguishing between maintenance and strategic development and many are turning to Susan and her team to extend their reach in Europe, in the Middle-East, in Africa—and beyond.With over 20 years’ experience in the technology industry, Susan brings to the role transformational leadership skills, and expertise in operations, sales and general management. Prior to joining Cogeco Peer 1, Susan was Chief of Staff UK & Ireland at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), responsible for leading HPE’s UK & Ireland growth plan and SMB program.
Spurred on by her experience as one of the only women in her Computer Science classes in the early 90’s, and the realization that not much has changed, Susan is passionate about encouraging more women in the technology sector. She is also the Chair of Tetum’s Women in Tech Council.
Susan has a post-graduate certificate in Education from the University of Greenwich, a Masters certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science, Business Information Systems from the University of Portsmouth.

As the guardian of the customer experience, Scott’s mission is to ensure we are human experts, not just IT experts. To remain true to our corporate vision of customer centricity, Scott believes we need to walk the talk of customer experience. He is determined that Cogeco Peer 1 offers the most human experience on the web and he is not taking on this commitment all by himself. Scott leads a team of more than 160 customer service professionals who are always there to ensure customers receive an exceptional experience.Customer experience is not just about fixing problems that are happening today. Scott and the team use their knowledge to anticipate customers’ future needs and remove any potential roadblocks. When customers are enabled to focus on the possibilities of the internet, not on the problems, they win the day!
Scott brings more than 25 years of global customer service experience to his role. Prior to joining Cogeco Peer 1, Scott honed his customer service skills and expertise at companies like AT&T, LexisNexis, TMP Worldwide and Sykes Enterprises. Scott has a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia.

Bertrand is the brand steward of our organization. He is at the helm of a growing marketing powerhouse, directing Global Marketing, Communications, Digital and Product Development.Bertrand operates in an environment that heavily depends on relationships and trust and, since his arrival at Cogeco Peer 1, has championed marketing as an accountable cornerstone of the company – working closely with the entire organization to ensure success that is measured not only in sales, but in the strength of our reputation and the development of meaningful customer experiences.
Previously at Microsoft, Bertrand held senior positions in national and international sales, marketing and business development – successfully expanding Microsoft’s footprint to dominate the software, services and solutions sector in Canada, Europe and globally.
Bertrand holds an Executive MBA from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science, Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Ted Smith is our Vice President, Engineering and Operations or as we like to think of him, our chief problem solver. A puzzle lover and mathematics major, Ted’s starting hypothesis is that there is always room for improvement. In any business, simple incremental improvements can amount to game-changing achievements. When trying to build an exceptional, reliable and secure IT experience, no problem must be met with complacency. Behind every opportunity to do better is a chance to make our customers remarkable.Ted is the visionary leader and IT expert that knows how to throw a good challenge—one that will inspire the best thinking, sustain intense, collaborative work, develop rock-solid relationships, and result in significant leaps in quality of service—both in-house and at our customer premises.
Some of the internet’s titan companies have turned to Ted to help them achieve scale and solve some really tough challenges. He also contributed to many important endeavors within Cogeco Peer 1, from defining the global expansion strategy to integrating acquisitions and developing unique hosting solutions. Ted holds a master’s degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University.

Vice President, Human Resources
Paulette is responsible for all aspects of strategic Human Resources, including talent management, leadership effectiveness, labor relations, performance management, learning and development, and compensation and benefit administration. IT is a highly competitive sport. Paulette is the talent scout, negotiator and coach-in-chief that builds and maintains the dream team that our customers expect when partnering with us. The comparison to competitive sports needs to stop here — sports teams usually count no more than dozens of players, whereas Cogeco Peer 1’s team counts more than 600 employees, all scoring for our customers — and their playground is the world.Because all of us at Cogeco Peer 1 speak IT, Paulette also has an IT background, including 15 years as a systems engineer in the IT industry. Prior to joining us, Paulette was the director of Human Resources for Rogers Media supporting Sales, Marketing, Digital Media, and…the Toronto Blue Jays.
She earned an MBA from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Calgary.

Shenif is responsible for financial reporting and planning, decision support, financial operations, sourcing and supply, as well as business intelligence for Cogeco Peer 1 globally. These are the aspects Shenif and his team have mastered for our operations and growth so that we can perfectly match the needs of our customers. Expect Shenif to be at least one mile ahead—because in the IT world things happen fast. Mere steps will not keep you ahead of the pack.Shenif spent the bulk of his career in a variety of roles, leading the finance functions within IBM Canada, including Controller for IBM Canada Software Lab, Chief Financial Officer, Global Business Services, and Chief Operating Officer, Global Business Services. Shenif has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance from the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto, Ontario and is a CPA, CMA.

Ben is responsible for the day-to-day legal activities including abuse-monitoring and legal compliance, privacy, risk management, and contract management. As far as our customers are concerned, Cogeco Peer 1 is the internet. If you chat with Ben, you’ll discover that the internet can be far more complex than the sum of its parts. Ben has the legal expertise and the team needed to preserve the full integrity of our network—not just the parts that engineers or end-users can see. Ben and his team anticipate the risks, provide the frameworks for worry-free partnerships and ensure the environment our customers operate in is compliant. Ben carries on this critical mission not just by being a good lawyer, but by being a strong advocate, inspiring his team to add value to every interaction and finding the solutions that mitigate the risks.Prior to joining Cogeco Peer 1, Ben held positions with Troutman Sanders LLP and Alston & Bird LLP. Ben holds degrees from both Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and Vanderbilt Law School.
